France, Germany, Italy, UK and US denounce rocket attack in Kurdistan Region

Story summary
The Spokespersons of the Foreign Ministries of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States condemn the April 14 rocket attack in the Kurdistan Region.

"We, the governments of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America condemn in the strongest terms the April 14 attacks in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region," said a statement by the states.
"Together, our governments will support the Government of Iraq’s investigation into the attacks to ensure that those responsible will be held accountable.
"We are united in our view that attacks on U.S. and Coalition personnel and facilities will not be tolerated and reiterate our steadfast commitment to the fight against ISIS," the statement added.
On Wednesday night, a drone laden with TNT smashed into a storage building at the base in the Kurdistan Region’s capital, which hosts soldiers from a number of countries belonging to the International Coalition fighting Islamic State (ISIS). No one was hurt.
Shortly after, three rockets hit a Turkish base near Bashiqa, killing one soldier and wounding a teenage girl living nearby.
The use of cover names by militias under the umbrella of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) helps them to obscure their involvement in attacks on the Kurdistan Region, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Deputy Minister of Peshmerga Affairs Sarbast Lazgin said on Friday, April 16.
