The Kurdish Language Platform has sent a letter to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan calling for the Kurdish language to be made official in Turkey.

The society also called on the Turkish president to end the policy of assimilation against the Kurdish language and Kurdish people.

According to K24, the letter emphasizes that the society agrees with Erdogan that assimilation is a crime against humanity and that the Kurdish language is exposed to it.

The platform has demanded that the pressure on the Kurdish language be lifted and that the language be given an official and legal status.

The Kurdish language platform was established in 2018 with the cooperation of 9 separate parties and organizations in Diyarbakir. Platform members and administrators want millions of Turkish Kurds to enjoy their human rights and Kurdish to become an official and educational language.
