CHP deputy: military methods won't resolve Kurdish issue

Story summary

Yildirim Kaya, deputy head of Turkish People's Republican Party (CHP) and Ankara's representative in the Turkish parliament, stated the Kurdish issue in the country will not be resolved through military ways.

Kaya said the "CHP is the party which established the republic in Turkey. We will not tolerate having only one party sign in Kurdish areas, nor not to engage in any activities in those areas. People's hope in Van, Diyarbakir, Shannly Urfa, Mardin, Batman, Hakkari, Sirnak, Bitlis, Bingol, Agri, etc is in our presence. CHP is the hope for peace".
According to Cumhurriyet daily, Kata added that: "We have learned the fact that the Kurdish issue will not be resolved through military methods. The pain we have suffered has proven that to us too. We tried to resolve the Kurdish issue through war-mongering policies, but nothing was achieved except the deepening of our wounds. Killing one another, threatening, killing civilians, military forces and police will not solve the Kurdish issue."
