PUK high political council discusses developments in Iraq

The members of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) High Political Council met in Sulaimani to discuss the latest developments in Iraq.
Karwan Yarways, press director for the council, told NRT Digital Media that they would also discuss the results of the party's congress, which wrapped up last month.
The PUK held its Fourth Congress on December 21 and members of the High Political Council, a group of long-serving party leaders, and General Leadership Council were elected. The latter body will choose the next party leader in the coming weeks.
It was the first such meeting in nearly a decade and has been billed by party leaders as an opportunity to renew the party.
