Syrian Kurds to make deal as ENKS expresses support for autonomous administration

The Kurdistan National Council (ENKS) has expressed its support for the move by Rojava's Kurdish-led autonomous administration to lift all barriers facing cooperation between Kurdish parties in the region, Rudaw news agency reported on Saturday.

The ENKS, an umbrella group consisting of several Kurdish parties in the region, is coming out in support of the talks promoting political unity in northeast Syria, it said.
The ENKS in a statement it issued said it welcomed the decision by the autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (NES) on Tuesday to allow for the ENKS to open offices without requiring permission.
The NES leadership also dropped all legal cases against ENKS members and formed a committee to investigate opposition claims that ENKS members are being held in NES prisons for political reasons, Rudaw said.
A Turkish offensive targeting the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in northern Syria in October has prompted Syrian Kurds to seek efforts to build political unity.
Commander of the SDF Mazloum Kobani, in a bid to unite Kurdish political movements in the region, met with the ENKS early November following a meeting between the SDF commander and Kurdistan Region’s President Nechirvan Barzani in Erbil.
Also a membervof ENKS who wanted to remain unknown stated the two sides have held talks with the mefiation of the US, Russia and France.
