The Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil announced on April 11 that a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran led by Dr. Hassan Danaeifard, former Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad, arrived in Erbil and met Masoud Barzani, the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and Kurdistan Region Prime Minister, Masrour Barzani as well as Nechirvan Barzani, the President of Kurdistan Region.

The meetings were held in two days, the Consulate General said in a statement.

It stated that regional issues and developments in Iraq and the Kurdistan region will be discussed during the meetings.

During the meetings, the two sides emphasized on strengthening and developing relations between the two sides in all fields.
