At least three Turkey-backed militants killed in Sari Kani bomb blast

At least three Turkey-backed militants were killed and two others wounded in a car bomb blast near Tal al-Janab village in the countryside of Sari Kani city northwest of Hasaka governorate on Friday, November 27.

The blast targeted a checkpoint belonging to the insurgents and caused extensive material damage despite casualties, according to North Press Agency.

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that four Turkish-backed militants within Ahrar al-Sharqiya faction were killed.

On November 14, a militant of Sultan Murad faction was killed in a landmine blast near Tal Tamr town west of Hasaka.

On November 2, two civilians were wounded in a bomb blast in al-Jawza roundabout in the center of Sari Kani.

In October 2019, Turkish army in coordination with the its pro-Syrian rebels occupied Sari Kani and Tel Abyad north of Hasaka governorate in Operation Peace Spring from the Kurdish-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Since then, residents in the area have experienced security chaos, blasts, infighting, looting, rape and other human rights abuses.
