Sudanie meets with delegation from Kurdistan Democratic Party

Iraq and Kurdistan Region service – In a meeting with a delegation from Kurdistan Democratic Party, the Iraqi Prime Minister emphasized the need to hold a parliamentary session to elect a president and the political deadlock.

According to Kurdpress, the Iraqi Prime Minister's office announced in a statement that Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani welcomes a delegation from Kurdistan Democratic Party on Wednesday. The meeting was also attended by the head of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition faction in the House of Representatives and a number of members of this faction.  

 The meeting reviewed the overall situation in the country and emphasized the importance of maintaining coordination and cooperation among all national political forces to unify positions in the face of current challenges in light of the rapid developments in the region.

The statement said that the meeting also reviewed the domestic political situation and emphasized the need to continue dialogue between different political forces and efforts to complete the constitutional processes and hold a special session to elect the president in order to fulfill the demands of the people throughout Iraq.

Previously, the speaker of the Iraqi parliament, Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani, emphasized that the delay in electing a president is no longer acceptable and that the parliament will assume its legal responsibility to complete this process.
