The Arab world has weak ties with Syrian Kurdish administration: official

Story summary
An official of the Syrian self-ruling Kurdish-led administration criticized the weak relations of the Arab world with the region.

Abdulkarim Omar, head of foreign relations for the North and East Syrian Autonomous Administration, hailed on Sunday the good relations between European and international and civil society institutions with the region, but blamed the weak relations of the Arab world with the administration.

Speaking to the media in northern Syria, Dr. Abdulkarim Omar said that the autonomous administration has been able to establish good social relations with public opinion and civil society institutions in the world. However, he criticized the failure of the administration's relations with the Arab world at an official level.

The official attributed part of the criticism to the administration itself and another to the hostile propaganda that some countries and groups are carrying out against the administration among Arab countries.

The head of the administration's foreign relations department believes that relations with Arab countries are important, because countries such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan can play a role in the political solution for Syria instead of the countries present in Syria.

Omar said they plan to develop relations between the autonomous administration and Arab countries in 2020.
