James Jeffrey meets Turkish presidential spokesman in Ankara

James Jeffrey, US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy for Syria, who is in Turkey, also met with Turkish Presidential Spokesman Ibrahim Kalin after meeting with Turkish Defense Minister, Hulusi Akar, and a Turkish defense ministry delegation.

According to Yeni Safak newspaper, Jeffrey's accompanying delegation met with Colin and his entourage at Mabin palace.

According to the information obtained from this meeting, which lasted for about an hour and a half, the two sides discussed various issues. They have reportedly discussed the Syrian crisis, the political process for resolving the crisis, working on the new Syrian constitutional committee, fight against terrorism, the refugee issue, regional issues and bilateral ties between Washington and Ankara.

The Turkish delegation also stressed the need to jointly fight all terrorist groups, including ISIS, noting that no financial, military or political support to terrorist groups in Syria is accepted.
