Halabja coronavirus curfew extended by 72 hours

Story summary

Halabja’s governor said on Tuesday, March 17, that the curfew imposed on the city has been extended by a further 72 hours in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

It will now end at 12:00 a.m. Friday, NRT reported.

“All bakeries, markets, and pharmacies may remain open and the vendors are allowed to use their vehicles within the neighborhoods, but they must follow the medical instructions.” Governor Azad Tofiq said.

“The butcher shops will only be open on March 18, from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. They will operate under observation of the joint committee and people should get their necessities during that limited period because the shops will be closed after that date.”

Using cars and motorcycles are not allowed and anyone who violates the curfew will be prosecuted.
