Dozens killed, injuried in clashes between HTS, Syrian forces in Latakia

Ten soldiers of the Syrian government forces and three members of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS- formerly al-Nusra Front) were reported killed and injured in clashes on Saturday between the two parties in Jabal al-Akrad in north Latakia, northwestern Syria.
A military source told North Press, “Militants of Othman bin Affan Brigade attacked this morning a headquarters of the government forces on the outskirts of Talat al-Burkan in Jabal al-Akrad, north of Latakia city.”
Militants of HTS infiltrated into posts of the government forces, sparking clashes that led to 10 deaths and injuries of the Syrian government forces and three injuries of HTS militants, according to the source.
Such acts are common occurrences by HTS militants in the countryside of Idlib, Aleppo and Latakia, and usually leave deaths and injuries among warring parties.
