Iraq is going through one of most difficult crises after 2003: PM Kadhimi

Story summary
The Iraqi Prime Minister said on Saturday, September 17, that the country is going through “one of the most difficult crises after 2003,” but still hoping to find solutions.

The Iraqi news agency reported that Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi in a statement covered Iraq’s political situation, arguing, “Iraq is going through a political crisis that may be one of the most difficult crises after 2003.”

“Let’s put Iraq and the Iraqis in mind, as Iraq and the Iraqis deserve to be sacrificed,” Kadhimi stated according to INA.

Iraq is now in days of Arabeen holy Shiite observance, a Shiite Muslim ceremony that marks the end of a 40-day mourning period for the grandson of the Prophet Mohammad, Imam Hussein.

Arabeen observance in Shiite majority Iraq, for a while, reduced the tensions between the rival leading parties, that struggling for power, particularly among Shiite parties who engaged in deep dispute since an election that was held in October last year.

Within the Arabeen marking its final days, fears have been raised over the new move by the rival parties who led the country to the brink of a civil war in late August.
