In an interview with Al-Ma'lomeh news agency, Ghias Sorchi stressed that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan stands by the Coordination Framework in its political movements to end the current crisis and move towards the formation of a new government.
"The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan remains committed to its agreement with the Coordination Framework and will continue its talks with other political parties to elect the President and Prime Minister of Iraq," he said.
He added: "Nothing is impossible in politics and the leadership of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan is serious about its obligations and insistence on Barham Salih's candidacy for the presidency, despite internal and external mediation between the PUK and the KDP and hopes that this two parties should come up with a special formula that will take the country out of the current political stalemate."
