The delegation arrived in Sulaimani and was welcomed by a Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) delegation led by Talabani in Dabashan area in the city, according to a statement released by Talabani’s office.

The two sides discussed the latest developments and political efforts to take out Iraq of “the political stalemate”, the statement read.

“Both sides agreed that the issues should be resolved through dialogue and election entitlements should be protected on the basis of national partnership,” Talabani’s office said.

They also stressed on the formation of a new Iraqi government on the basis on constitution and real partnership, which includes representatives of all components and lead to a stable and prosperous Iraq, according to the statement.
