The Secretary General of the Peshmerga Ministry added that the Kurdistan Region forces have not taken any action against the PKK in Khalifan and no Peshmerga forces have been sent to attack the PKK and the Peshmerga forces are only fighting the ISIS.

Meanwhile, the PKK announced that a number of its forces in the Khalifan area had been attacked by Peshmerga forces affiliated with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), and that several PKK fighters had lost their lives and the fate of one of them is unknown.

There have been several clashes between PKK fighters and Peshmerga forces affiliated with the KDP, which have resulted in casualties on both sides.
