On Friday, the US House of Representatives rejected a proposal by Democratic MP Jamaal Bowman to end the US presence in Syria.

The amendment needed to be approved by a majority of members of Congress to pass, but 286 lawmakers voted against it, with 141 in favor. 187 Republicans and 99 Democrats rejected the Bowman Amendment. They voted against the withdrawal of American troops from Syria.

The amendment also includes a proposal to block the allocation of special funding for US troops in Syria in preparation for their final withdrawal after a six-month to one-year period.

The US Department of Defense budget, approved by Congress, set aside $ 177 million for training and fighting ISIS in Syria, as well as $ 345 million for training and fighting ISIS in Iraq.
