Al-Anbar Operations Commander Qassim Mosleh said on Sunday that the second phase of ‘Abtal al-Nasr’ Operation has led to the great achievements in securing western Iraq, Iran Press reported.

According to the Al-Anbar Operations Commander, two terrorists and 14 suspected of cooperating with terrorists were arrested and handed over to the relevant authorities.

Iraqi Popular Mobilization Unit (PMU) and army forces launched Abtal al-Nasr operation since Thursday morning 9 April in the west and southwest of al-Anbar to maintain the security of the western borders of Iraq and the desert areas in the southwestern part of al-Anbar province.

Despite the defeat of IS terrorist outfit in Iraq, a number of members of this terrorist group are still present in different parts of the country and are carrying out terrorist acts sporadically.
